Set amidst a fishing village and lush rice paddies right on the beachfront you find KUBU LALANG
bungalows, (“grass thatched hut“) about 6 km from the provincial capital of Singaraja,
4 km east from the main tourist center – Lovina Central. (Kalibukbuk).
|
In 1998 a Balinese family and an Austrian woman bought a
rice field on the beach of Tukadmungga. After draining, planting
and developing the necessary infrastructure, they opened the
restaurant in December 2000 and on full moon November 2001 the
first bungalow started operating, further 4 bungalows followed
as years went by. Everything was built in traditional style
using local materials. |
In 2008 Joni (from Sumatra) and Caspar (from Holland) continued
together with the staff to take care of Kubu Lalang and her guests.
The sand on our beach, as on most of north-Bali's beaches is black
volcanic and the waters generally tranquil like a lake and without
dangerous currents because of the nearby coral reef.
Unlike in the bustling resorts of the tourist south of Bali, here
you can mingle closely with local people. The nearest small village
with reasonable shopping and some tourist activity is Anturan
fishing village, just a 5 minutes beach stroll away.
KUBU LALANG restaurant is set right on the beachfront, offering a
combination of authentic local and international food and is well
known for its good cuisine in Lovina area and beyond.
The beachfront provides fabulous sunsets and in the evenings, as the
fishermen leave on their outrigger boats, the horizon flickers with
their night lamps.
A busy nightlife is not available in the north of Bali. Package
tourists are not directed to the quieter north, so you tend to meet
a more adventurous and interesting traveler type, who enjoys the
opportunity to mingle with local culture, rather than just sunbathe.
By building only a few bungalows we can provide a family atmosphere
for our guests (and for ourselves, too) and our team is more than
happy to assist you also with special wishes and needs.
We do hope your stay with us will enhance the experience of
unforgettable holydays on this very special island. |
